Ingredients:

Chicken breast -250gm,cubed
Vinegar – tbsp
Chilli sauce – 1 tbsp

Soy sauce -½ tsp
Butter Milk -¼ th cup
breadcrumbs – 1cup

Flour -1 cup
Corn flour -½ cup
Salt – to taste
Dried thyme-1 tsp
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp

Dried basil -1tsp
Garlic powder- 1tsp

Onion powder-1tsp
Egg-1 (add to the marinated chicken before coating)

Instructions:

Marinate the Chicken:

Cut your chicken breasts into identical pieces that are bite-sized. In a bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients;( Red chilli powder, Garlic powder, Vinegar, Chilli sauce, Soy sauce) with butter milk evenly massage the mixture over the chicken. Give it a minimum of 10 minutes to marinate . Refrigerate the bowl for at least one hour, or better still, overnight, with a cover on it. The chicken gets more flavorful and tender thanks to the buttermilk.

Prepare the Breading:

Combine the breadcrumbs, all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, and dried basil in a shallow basin. The flavour of the chicken popcorn is reminiscent of KFC thanks to this tasty breading mix.

Add the Egg

Remove the chicken from the refrigerator after one hour, or overnight. Add the egg and well mix.

Bread the Chicken:

Coat every marinated chicken piece completely by dipping it in the seasoned flour mixture. making sure everything is covered. Lastly, coat it once more in the flour mixture, carefully pressing to ensure that the chicken is covered in breadcrumbs and spices. While you bread the remaining chicken, place the breaded pieces on a wire rack. This improves the coating’s adhesion during frying and lets extra breading slide off.

Fry the Chicken:

A few breaded chicken pieces at a time, carefully drop them into the heated oil, being careful not to jam the fryer or pot too full. The chicken should be fried for five to six minutes, or until crispy and golden brown. The chicken should be cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

After cooked, use a slotted spoon to take the chicken popcorn out of the oil and place it on a dish covered with paper towels so that any extra oil may be drained off.

Serve and Enjoy:

Serve hot chicken popcorn in the KFC manner along with your preferred dipping sauce, including ranch dressing, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce. Savour the tasty and crispy chicken popcorn as an appetiser, a snack, or a component of a delectable dinner.

You can replicate the flavour and texture of KFC-style chicken popcorn in your own kitchen by following these instructions. Enjoy this delicious delicacy with friends and family after adjusting the seasonings to your liking.

Expert Tips

To make sure your chicken popcorn is crispy, savoury, and juicy, you need to pay close attention to detail and follow a few professional guidelines. The following advice will help you get the greatest outcomes:

Choosing the Right Chicken

Cut of Chicken: Use skinless, boneless chicken thighs or breasts. Breasts are usually thinner than thighs in terms of juiciness.

Uniform Size: To ensure even cooking, chop the chicken into uniformly sized bite-sized pieces.

Marination

Flavorful Marinade: For optimal flavour, marinate the chicken pieces for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight. Make use of yoghurt, buttermilk, or a spice and herb mixture.

Acidic Element: To tenderise the meat, use an acidic ingredient into the marinade, such as vinegar or lemon juice.

Breading Technique

Triple Coating: Apply a triple coating technique on chicken for extra crispy results:

Coat the pieces of chicken with spiced flour. Dip them into buttermilk or beaten eggs.

Seasoned Flour: To enhance the flavour of the flour, add spices such as paprika, onion, garlic, and pepper powder.

Frying Advice
Oil Temperature: Keep the oil temperature between 175°C and 190°C, or 350°F and 375°F. If you cook the chicken too low, it will absorb too much oil; if you cook it too hot, it will burn before it is fully cooked.

Small Batches: Fry in tiny batches to prevent the pan from becoming too crowded, which could cause the oil’s temperature to drop.

Drain Excess Oil: To keep the chicken crispy and to drain extra oil, place a wire rack over paper towels.

Baking Alternative

Preheat and Prepare: Set the oven’s temperature to 400°F (200°C) and prepare. Arrange a baking sheet over a wire rack.

Lightly Grease: For a crispy finish, lightly brush or spray cooking spray or cooking spray on the chicken pieces.

Bake Evenly: To guarantee even cooking, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through.

Seasoning Post-Frying

Season Immediately: To improve the flavour, immediately after frying, while the chicken popcorn is still hot, sprinkle a small amount of salt or seasoning blend on top.

Serving Suggestions

Dipping Sauces: Serve a selection of dipping sauces, such as ranch dressing, spicy mayo, honey mustard, and barbecue sauce.

Garnishes: For extra freshness, garnish with freshly chopped parsley or a dash of lemon juice.

Storage and Reheating

Storing: Store any leftover chicken popcorn in the fridge for up to three days by placing it in an airtight container.

Reheating: To restore crispness, reheat for ten to fifteen minutes at 375°F (190°C) in the oven. Steer clear of the microwave as it may result in mushy chicken.

You can make delicious, crispy, and crowd-pleasing chicken popcorn by using these professional cooking strategies. Have fun.
